Qualification tournament for the 1st Bundesliga 1991/92

Since only two teams from the 2nd Bundesliga were allowed to advance due to the reunification, the four winners of the second division relays competed in a qualifying tournament for the two promotion places, which took place from May 31 to June 2 in Regensburg . Participants were the SG Bochum 31 (winner of the west season), the SV 1920 Hofheim (winner of the south Wesr season), the Hannoversche SK (winner of the north season) and the SV Fortuna Regensburg (winner of the south season). Bochum and Hanover only drew in a direct comparison and secured their two promotional positions with victories against Hofheim and Regensburg.
