German Chess League 1988/89

The 1988/89 season was the ninth season of the German Chess League . The championship title was secured for the fourth time after 1983 , 1985 and 1986 by the chess department of FC Bayern Munich .

The SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim , the Delmenhorster SK , the SV Rochade Bielefeld and Grundig Nürnberg were newly promoted . Only Heidelberg-Kirchheim and Delmenhorst could hold the class, in addition to Bielefeld and Nuremberg, SG Bochum 31 and SC Kreuzberg were relegated .
