German Chess League 2018/19

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2018/19 season was the 39th season of the German Chess League . The defending champion was OSG Baden-Baden .

The OSG Baden-Baden managed to defend the title. Last year, SC Viernheim (south), BCA Augsburg (east), SG Turm Kiel (north) and Düsseldorfer SK (west) were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . While Viernheim, Augsburg and Kiel achieved relegation, Düsseldorf together with SV 1920 Hofheim , MSA Zugzwang 82 and DJK Aachen (which withdrew their team before the start of the season so that the league only played with 15 teams) had to relegate directly. For the game of the season, the winning game of Romain Édouard (Werder Bremen) against Erwin l'Ami (SG Solingen) was chosen.

For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see the team squad of the German Federal Chess League 2018/19 .
