Arp 295 is an interacting galaxy pair ( MCG -1-60-21 & MCG -1-60-22 ) in the constellation Aquarius, which is an estimated 316 million light years from the Milky Way . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This pair of galaxies belongs to the class of galaxies with long filaments .
