German Chess League 2014/15

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2014/15 season was the 35th season of the German Chess League . The defending champion OSG Baden-Baden won the tenth title in a row. SSC Rostock 07 (group north), USV TU Dresden (group east), SK Schwäbisch Hall (group south) and SC Hansa Dortmund (group west) were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga in the previous year . While Dresden, Schwäbisch Hall and Dortmund achieved relegation, Rostock had to relegate directly. In terms of sport, the Schachfreunde Berlin , Sportfreunde Katernberg and FC Bayern Munich would also have been relegated. However, since the Eppingen chess club withdrew its team at the end of the season and no promoters were reported from the West Group of the 2nd Bundesliga for the 2015/16 season, Berlin and (after Katernberg's resignation) Munich still achieved relegation. For the game of the season, the winning game of Richárd Rapport (SV 1930 Hockenheim) against Alexander Donchenko (SC Hansa Dortmund) was chosen.
