German Chess League 2013/14

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2013/14 season was the 34th season of the German Chess League . OSG Baden-Baden became champions for the ninth time in a row . In the previous year, König Tegel (group north), FC Bayern Munich (group east) and SC Viernheim (group south) were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga , while no promoters were reported from group west. In purely sporting terms, all three promoted teams would have been relegated together with SV Griesheim , but since SV Wattenscheid withdrew its team after the season, Munich was still the best relegated team. For the game of the season, the victory of Maximilian Meinhardt (SC Viernheim) against Nasar Firman (Sportfreunde Katernberg) was chosen.
