German Chess League 1980/81

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1980/81 season was the first season of the newly founded single-track Bundesliga chess league . Due to the equality of points between the first two in the table after the regular season games, there was a playoff for the title between the defending champions Solingen SG 1868 and SG Porz . Solingen won this with 5½: 2½ and secured the first title of the German Chess League. During the season SG Porz had won against Solingen.
