Johannes Eising (born May 30, 1935 in Magdeburg ) is a German chess player who holds the title of FIDE master .

Together with Hans Besser, Eising left the GDR in the late 1950s and settled in West Germany. He took part in two GDR championships in 1955 and 1957, where he placed in the middle of the field; he won the GDR team championship in 1955 and 1956 with SC Wissenschaft Halle .

Eising became one of the leading players in the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1960s and 1970s, and was a member of the national team at the European Team Championship in Hamburg in 1965 and in Bath in 1973 . Eising took part in seven German championships from 1961 to 1976 . In 1967 he received the title of National Master from the German Chess Federation . He had his best result in 1974 at the German Championship in Menden , when he was runner- up after Peter Ostermeyer . In 1972 he represented the FRG at the zone tournament in Caorle (11th place out of 18 participants). 1973 Eising won in Bad Mondorf ahead of Rudolf Teschner , in 1974 he achieved a highly acclaimed victory over the Soviet tournament winner Lev Polugajewski at the Grand Masters tournament in Solingen .

With the Bundesliga teams SG Porz and Solingen SG 1868 , Eising was German team champion a total of seven times , and he also played in the Bundesliga from 1982 to 1985 and in the 1986/87 season at SG Enger / Spenge . Since the 1990s, Eising, who bears the title of FIDE master , has mainly played team and senior tournaments. In between he played with SF Sinzig and again with SG Porz, currently (as of 2015) with SC Remagen.

Eising is listed as inactive at FIDE because he has not played an Elo-rated game since the open championship in Cologne in January 2008.
