GDR team championship in chess 1955
At the GDR team championship in chess in 1955 , SC Wissenschaft Halle , which was newly founded at the beginning of the season, won the DDR team championship straight away .
With a view to the formation of priorities, it was decided to reorganize the top divisions. A special league was created for the 1955/56 season, consisting of the three sports clubs Einheit Dresden , Motor Berlin and Wissenschaft Halle .
