GDR team championship in chess 1970
At the GDR team championship in chess in 1970 , the Leipzig chess community took the title and won the GDR team championship .
A round-robin tournament was played , with each team fighting each other eight team fights on eight boards, the so-called Scheveningen system . There were a total of 48 team fights, so 384 games. At least one junior (up to 20 years of age) had to play in each team.
