GDR team championship in chess 1960

At the GDR team championship in chess in 1960 TSC Oberschöneweide was able to defend the title and won the GDR team championship for the second time after 1959 .

A round-robin tournament was played , with each team fought four team matches on eight boards against each other, the so-called half-Scheveningen system . There were a total of 60 team fights, so 480 games.

The fifth and final round of the league took place from September 23 to 25, 1960, with the three four-round matches between SC Einheit Dresden and SC Chemie Halle , SC Rotation Leipzig against TSC Oberschöneweide II and TSC Oberschöneweide I against Motor Gotha . Before the four final rounds began, SC Chemie Halle was leading TSC Oberschöneweide I with 2.5 points .
