Hans Platz (* 1971 in Erlangen ) is a German guitarist and musician .

biography

Hans Platz has been playing in bands since he was 16 . His training was mainly self-taught , but he also took part in seminars and workshops with Joscho Stephan , Mattias Eklundh and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston . Influences include Steve Vai , Joe Satriani but also Paco de Lucia , Jeff Beck and Al Di Meola .

In the 1990s he played a. a. in the band Cyrus Dance, later with Sushifarm. In 2003 he was a temp at JBO , in 2006 and 2007 at Fiddlers Green .

Since 2008, Platz has been a permanent member of the medieval rock / metal band Feuerschwanz and performs there under the pseudonym Hans der Aufrechte . With Feuerschwanz he reached the German album top ten several times, completed tours in German-speaking countries and performed at festivals such as B. the Summer Breeze or Wacken Open Air . The concert at Summer Breeze 2018 was recorded by the WDR Rockpalast .

In 2013 he recorded an instrumental solo album Timestamps , which he had worked on for four years. This album can best be assigned to the genre Progressive Rock / Metal and led to various articles in the trade press. The album featured: Marco Minnemann , Wolfgang Haffner , Simon Michael , Wolfram Kellner ( drums ), TM Stevens , Fabio Trentini, Pete Griffin ( bass ) and Matthias Eklundh (guitar).

2016 he played the electric guitar and part of the A-guitars on the album since at Since the band DARTAGNAN and accompanied her on tour. The album reached gold status.

Platz is the official endorser of the German guitar manufacturer Framus , for whom he gave workshops at the Guitar Summit 2019 in Mannheim .
