GDR team championship in chess 1952

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The East German team Chess Championship 1952 was on 20 July 1952 at the Ratskeller of the city Leipzig ended.

The BSG Einheit-Leipzig-Ost also won the GDR team championship in 1952 after 1951 .

Review of the winning team

In 1949 the company sports association Einheit-Leipzig-Ost (then BSG Erich Zeigner ) won the championship of the eastern zone of Germany in Wernigerode . In the following year 1950, the BSG KWU Leipzig became the first GDR team champion in Binz , because the BSG Erich Zeigner could not prevail in the Saxon championship. Although the BSG KWU (section chess) was merged into the BSG Einheit-Leipzig-Ost in 1951, the title was barely achieved in 1951.

Restructuring from October 1, 1952 for 1952/53

Due to the reorganization of the GDR , the chess championships were also restructured into the district league (6–12 teams), district class, 1st district class, 2nd district class and 3rd district class.
