GDR team championship in chess 1983

At the GDR team championship in 1983 , the Leipzig chess community won the GDR team championship for the tenth time .

A round-robin tournament was played according to the Scheveningen system , with each team fighting each other four team fights on eight boards. There were a total of 180 team fights, i.e. 1440 games.
