GDR team championship in chess 1972

At the GDR team championship in chess in 1972 , the defending champion Schachgemeinschaft Leipzig won the GDR team championship for the third time in a row .

A round-robin tournament was played , with each team playing eight team fights on eight boards against each other. There were a total of 48 team fights, so 384 games.
