GDR team championship in chess 1957
At the GDR team championship in chess in 1957 , SC Einheit Dresden won the GDR team championship for the first time .
A round-robin tournament was played , with each team fighting each other eight team fights on eight boards, the so-called Scheveningen system . There were a total of 48 team fights, so 384 games.
With a view to the formation of priorities, a restructuring of the top divisions was decided in 1955. A special league was created for the 1955/56 season.
