German Chess League 2001/02
The 2001/02 season was the 22nd season of the German Chess League . As in the previous year, the championship was the Lübeck SV 1873 . The Stuttgart Chess Friends 1879 , the Erfurter SK , Königsspringer Hamburg and the SG Heiligenhaus were newly promoted . Stuttgart and Erfurt were able to keep the class, Hamburg and Heiligenhaus got down again. The SK King Plauen was allowed to remain in 13th place in the league, because the SV Castrop-Rauxel retired after the season from the Bundesliga. The USC Magdeburg had already canceled participation in the game before the season.
