German Chess League 2001/02 (women)
The 2001/02 season was the eleventh season of the Women's Chess League. The Stuttgart Chess Friends in 1879 , SC Meerbauer Kiel and Rotation Berlin were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . While Stuttgart and Berlin achieved relegation, Kiel ended up on a relegation zone, as did the SG Heiligenhaus , which withdrew their team after the second round, and the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 , which lost all competitions. However, since the Stuttgart chess friends withdrew their team after the season, Meerbauer Kiel stayed in the Bundesliga. The Dresdner SC gave only one draw and was thus superior German champions.
