German Chess League 1997/98 (women)

The 1997/98 season was the seventh season of the Women's Chess League. The Hamburger SK , Vimaria Weimar and the chess company Augsburg had moved up from the 2nd Bundesliga . While the Hamburg women achieved relegation, Weimar and Augsburg had to relegate again and OTG Gera also relegated . The defending champion Elberfelder Schachgesellschaft 1851 suffered two defeats against the Rodewisch chess chicks and the Hamburger SK, but was still able to win the Bundesliga again with one point ahead of the Hamburger SK.
