German Chess League 1998/99 (women)

The 1998/99 season was the eighth season of the Women's Chess League. SV 1920 Hofheim , Rotation Berlin and Spielvereinigung Leipzig in 1899 were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . While the Berliners achieved relegation, Hofheim and Leipzig had to relegate directly. The third relegation place occupied the SC Leipzig-Gohlis , but since the Elberfeld chess society withdrew from the Bundesliga in 1851 after the season, Leipzig-Gohlis remained first class. The defending champion Elberfelder Schachgesellschaft 1851 gave up only two draws and was four points ahead of German champions.
