This article covers the 2018/19 German Women's Chess League. For the same season of the Austrian Women's Chess League, see Schachbundesliga 2018/19 (Austria, Women) .
The 2018/19 season was the 28th season of the women's chess Bundesliga . The champions were the SC Bad Königshofen , while the defending champion OSG Baden-Baden had to be content with fourth place. TuRa Harksheide , FC Bayern Munich and Rotation Pankow were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga last year . As the only newcomer, Harksheide managed to stay in the league, while Pankow and Munich had to relegate directly. In purely sporting terms, the Karlsruhe chess fans would also have been relegated, but since no club from the 2nd Bundesliga West wanted to exercise their promotion rights for the coming season, they remained as the best relegated in the 1st division. For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see the team squad of the German Federal Chess League 2018/19 (women) .
The competitions took place on October 27 and 28, November 17 and 18, 2018, January 12 and 13, February 9 and 10 and from March 1 to 3, 2019. The last three rounds were played centrally in Berlin , the other competitions were held locally at the clubs involved.
