The 1991/92 season was the first season of the newly founded national chess league for women. Lasker Steglitz was two points ahead of the top and secured the first title of the women's chess national league. The SV Chemie Guben and the SC Bessenbach had to relegate , actually the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 would also have relegated, which lost the playoff for 9th place against the VdS Buna Halle with 1.5: 4.5 , who had the same team and board point . But since Lasker Steglitz withdrew from the Bundesliga, the Krefeld women were spared relegation.
