German Chess League 1993/94 (women)

The 1993/94 season was the third season of the Women's Chess League. The Rodewischer Schachmiezen , SC Bessenbach and SK Zehlendorf were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . Rodewisch was the only newcomer to stay in the league, alongside Bessenbach and Zehlendorf, SV 1920 Hofheim had to relegate. At the top, three clubs were tied with the defending champion Elberfelder Schachgesellschaft 1851 , the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 and the PSV Dresden . In accordance with the regulations, these play-offs fought; First Elberfeld defeated Dresden with 4.5: 1.5, then Krefeld won with 3.5: 2.5 against Elberfeld, before Dresden prevailed against Krefeld with 3.5: 2.5. Since all clubs each had a win and a defeat in the playoff, the board points scored in the playoff decided so that Elberfeld was able to defend the title; Krefeld was second ahead of Dresden.
