German Chess League 2015/16 (women)
The 2015/16 season was the 25th season of the women's chess Bundesliga . The defending champion OSG Baden-Baden became champion thanks to the better board points in front of the runner-up SK Schwäbisch Hall . The Karlsruher Schachfreunde , SK Doppelbauer Kiel and SV Grün-Weiß Niederwiesa were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . Karlsruhe was the only newcomer to stay in the league, while Kiel and Niederwiesa were relegated directly. In purely sporting terms, the SK Lehrte would also have been relegated, but this still achieved relegation through the retreats of the SF 1891 Friedberg and SK Großlehna . The other two relegated teams waived a possible starting place, so that, as an exception, four teams from the 2nd Bundesliga were promoted for the coming season.
