south

PSV Ulm and SV Fortuna Regensburg were promoted to the season south . While the Ulm team managed to stay in the league, the Regensburg team had to relegate together with the Munich SC in 1836 . Since the clubs in places 6 to 8 were tied, they had to hold a tie-off tournament to stay in the league, which the Stuttgart chess friends won in 1879 with a 4.5: 3.5 win against Munich SC and a 4: 4 against Regensburg could decide, as Munich defeated Regensburg 6-2. The SC 1868 Bamberg made two draws, but still managed to win the relay by four points and thus qualify for the finals.
