SC Kreuzberg
The SC Kreuzberg (Schach-Club Kreuzberg eV) is a chess club in Berlin-Kreuzberg , which belongs to the Berlin Chess Association .
The chess club was founded in 1949 and, as Berlin's club with the largest number of members, has ten teams . The strongest team played in the Bundesliga and the second team in the 2nd Bundesliga until 2008 .
Brigitte Große-Honebrink is the chairwoman of the association.
Several grandmasters have played for the club in the past , for example Zoltán Almási , Lewon Aronjan , Merab Gagunaschwili , Sergei Kalinitschew , Ralf Lau , Thomas Luther , Andrij Maksymenko , Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu , Luděk Pachman , Gabriel Sarkissjan , Dawit Schengelia , Bartosz Soćko and Raj Tischbierek .
