Evgeni Najer ( Russian Евгений Юрьевич Наер ; at FIDE Evgeniy ; born June 22, 1977 in Moscow ) is a Russian grandmaster and coach in chess .

Najer learned chess from his father when he was five years old. His coach was for a long time Alexander Petrovich Bodisko; since his death Najer has been trying to do without a coach. He is a board member of the Association of Chess Professionals (ACP).

successes

In the Russian team championship , for example, in 2001 he played for Gasowik Tyumen , in 2003 for Norsiki Nikel Norilsk in 2006 and 2008 for TPS Saransk and since 2009 for SchSM-64 Moscow . With Moscow he was in 2010 in Sochi and 2011 in Olginka, Krasnodar region win the team championship. From the 2007/08 season to the 2013/14 season he played in the German Federal Chess League for SV Wattenscheid . With Husek Vienna he won the Austrian team championship in his first season, 2008/09 . Najer won the Russian U20 youth championship. In 1996 he won a tournament in Pardubice , in 1998 he was able to win again in Pardubice, where he achieved his first GM norm. He received the title in 1999. In August 2002 he won the US Open in Cherry Hill Township, NJ , in March 2004 the Cappelle-la-Grande-Open . In July 2005 he won the Maccabiah tournament in Jerusalem and in February 2007 the Moscow Open , which was held at the State University of Social Sciences. He won the President's Cup in Baku in May 2008, in July 2008 (before Ľubomír Ftáčnik ) and in July 2009 (before Hikaru Nakamura ) the World Open in Philadelphia . In March 2016 he won the Aeroflot Open in Moscow (ahead of Boris Gelfand ).

Najer took part in the Chess World Cup five times ( 2005 , 2007 , 2009 , 2013 and 2015 ) . His best result was the third round in 2005. In March 2015 he was European chess champion in Jerusalem with 8.5 points from 11 games .

He has held the title of International Master (IM) since 1993, the title of Grand Master since 1999 and the title of FIDE Senior Trainer since 2016 . His best FIDE world ranking position was 27th in July 2006.
