The Extraliga is the top division in Czech team chess . This includes 12 teams; The game is played on 8 boards.
Organizational form
The 12 participating teams play a simple round-robin tournament , the final placement is determined first by the number of team points (three points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a winning game, half a point for a draw game, no point for a losing game). The last two are relegated to the first division and are replaced by the winners of the západ (west) and východ (east) seasons of the first division. The cooling-off time is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and 30 minutes until the end of the game; From the first move on, each player also receives a time credit of 30 seconds per move until the end of the game.
history
The Extraliga was introduced after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia for the 1992/93 season. When the Extraliga was founded, 10 teams belonged, for the 1995/96 season the Extraliga was expanded to 12 teams.
