Extraliga (Czech Republic, chess) 2000/01

The Extraliga 2000/01 was the ninth season of the Czech Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams

For the Extraliga, ŠK Infinity Pardubice , SC A64 Lázně Slatinice , ŠK Dům armády Prague , TJ Nová Huť Ostrava , ŠK DP Holdia Prague , TJ TŽ Třinec , ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad , ŠK Zlín , SK ZČE Plzeň and Sokol Kolín came first in the 1999/2000 season, ŠK Dvorský Prague had also been promoted as the winner of the 1st česká liga 1999/2000 and the ŠK Hagemann Opava as the winner of the 1st moravskoslezská liga 1999/2000.

mode

The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament , first the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat) decided on the placements, then the board points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss).

Game dates

The competitions took place on November 18 and 19 and December 17, 2000, January 13 and 14, February 24 and 25, March 17 and 18 and April 7 and 8, 2001.

Season course

ŠK DP Holdia Prague , ŠK Hagemann Opava and SC A64 Lázně Slatinice fought a three-way battle for the title, which was only decided in the last round in favor of Prague. The relegation battle offered less tension. TJ Nová Huť Ostrava lost all competitions, and Sokol Kolín was already relegated before the last round.
