Extraliga (Czech Republic, chess) 2001/02

The Extraliga 2001/02 was the tenth season of the Czech Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams

ŠK DP Holdia Prague , ŠK Hagemann Opava , SC A64 Lázně Slatinice , TJ TŽ Třinec , ŠK Trinom Zlín , ŠK Mahrla Prague , ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad-VISUS , SK ZČE Plzeň , ŠK Dům armády Prague and ŠK Infinity Pardubice signed up for the Extraliga the top ten of the 2000/01 season qualified, and TJ Bohemians Prague were promoted as the winner of the 1st česká liga 2000/01 and ŠK Jäkl Karviná as the winner of the 1st moravskoslezská liga 2000/01.

mode

The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament , first the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat) decided on the placements, then the board points (1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss).

Game dates

The competitions took place on October 20 and 21, November 18, December 15 and 16, 2001, January 12 and 13, March 9 and 10, and April 6 and 7, 2002.

Season course

The ŠK Hagemann Opava was in a class of its own and had already secured the championship title before the last lap. While TJ Bohemians Prague was already relegated two rounds before the end, the decision about the second relegated was only made in the last round against last year's champions ŠK DP Holdia Prague .
