Radek Kalod

Radek Kalod (born August 8, 1978 in Brno ) is a Czech chess master .

Kalod received the grandmaster title in 2004 , he won the Czech U-20 Junior Championships in Ústí nad Labem in 1996 and in Lázně Bohdaneč in 1998, was a participant in the U-20 Youth World Championships in Medellín in 1996 and in Kozhikode in 1998 . Kalod played for the Czech national team at the 2006 Chess Olympiad in Turin .

Kalod won or occupied top places in some tournaments: 2nd place in Brno (1995), 1st place in Aschach an der Donau (1999), 1st place in Passau (2000), I-IV. Place in Böblingen (2000), II-V. Place in Tampere (2002), 2nd place in Prague (2003), III. Place in Brno (2004), II-VI. Place in Pardubice (2004), I. Place in Barcelona (2005), I-VI. Place in Česká Třebová (2006).

His Elo rating is 2479, which puts him in 18th place in the Czech ranking (as of December 2014). He reached his highest rating of 2512 in July 2006.

Kalod played in the Czech Extraliga in the 1994/95 season and from 2001 to 2006 for the ŠK Lokomotiva MONING Brno (2001 to 2004 ŠK Hagemann Opava ), in the 1996/97 season for the ŠK Zlín , and from 1997 to 1999 for the A64 MILO Olomouc , from 1999 to 2001 for the ŠK Dům armády Prague , from 2006 to 2013 for the 1st Novoborský ŠK and since 2017 for Moravská Slavia Brno . He won the Extraliga in 1995, 1998 , 2002 , 2004 , 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . In the Austrian Bundesliga , Kalod played for ASVÖ Wulkaprodersdorf from 2005 to 2009 , in the Slovakian Extraliga in the 1997/98 season for ŠK Slovan Levice , in the 2002/03 and 2005/06 seasons for ZK Slovakofarma Hlohovec and from 2008 to 2010 for the MŠK KdV Kežmarok .
