Peter Michalík (born September 15, 1990 in Bojnice ) is a Slovak chess master who has been playing for the Czech Chess Federation since March 2016.

Life

Michalík took part in nine Mitropa Cups, eight times for the Slovak national team and in 2016 for the Czech selection, with which he won the competition. Michalík won twice the U10 championship in Slovakia (1999 and 2000), twice the U12 championship in Slovakia (2001 and 2002) and once the U16 championship in Slovakia (2005). In the IM tournament in Ostrava (2003) he was third, in the Open in Stara Pazova he was second and won the Banícky kahanec 2011 tournament in Zaježová . With the Slovak national team he took part in the Chess Olympiads in 2012 and 2014 . He played for the Czech Republic at the 2018 Chess Olympiad and the 2019 European Team Championship .

Michalík became grandmaster in 2011, the first norm he received in the Czech extra league 2010/11 . He met the second standard at the 2011 European Championships in Aix-les-Bains . He played in the Slovak Extraliga in the 2001/02 season for the ŠK Baník Prievidza from 2005 to 2009 CVC SPU Nitra from 2009 to 2012 for the club Šachový Prievidza , with whom he in 2010 was Slovakian team champion and the European Club Cup took part , from 2012 to 2014 for the ŠK Slovan Bratislava , with which he became champion in 2013 , and from 2014 to 2016 for the ŠO ŠKM Angelus Stará Ľubovňa , with which he won the title in 2015 and 2016 . He has been competing for the ŠK Modra since the 2016/17 season . In the German federal chess league he played from the 2011/12 season to the 2014/15 season for the Schachfreunde Berlin , for the 2015/16 season he moved to SK Schwäbisch Hall , for which he was until the club's withdrawal from the 1st Bundesliga after the 2017/18 season played. In the 2019/20 season Michalík is registered for SC Heusenstamm in the 2nd Bundesliga South . In the Czech Extra League, he played for ŠK Zlín from 2008 to 2012 and for TJ TŽ Třinec from 2012 to 2016 . He has been playing for Prestige Photo Unichess since the 2016/17 season . In the Polish Ekstraliga he has been playing for Wieża Pęgów since 2018 and in the Austrian Bundesliga since 2018 for the Mayrhofen / Zell / Zillertal syndicate . In August 2013, he led the Slovak Elo ranking.
