Ján Plachetka (born February 18, 1945 in Trenčín ) is a Slovak chess player .

Career

In 1978 he received the grandmaster title . Plachetka was second in the Czechoslovak individual championship in 1992, in 1973 and 1988 he reached third place. In 1993 he was Slovak individual champion in Topoľčianky .

Plachetka won or occupied top places in many tournaments: I.-II. Place in Starý Smokovec (1972), I. place in Rimavská Sobota (1975), I.-II. Place in Polanica-Zdrój (1975), I-III. Place in Maribor (1977), I. place in Trnava (1979), I. place in Sofia (1979), I.-II. Place in Starý Smokovec (1979), I.-III. Place in Novi Sad (1983), I.-II. Place in Paris (1989), I.-II. Place in Olomouc (2002), I. place in Staré Město (2004), I.-II. Place in Lippstadt (2005) and I.-III. Place in Umag (2006).

Since 2009 he has held the title of FIDE Senior Trainer. His Elo number is 2375 (as of January 2015), in January 1980 he reached his highest Elo number of 2480.

National team

Plachetka took part in seven Chess Olympiads , 1974 , 1980 , 1982 , 1984 and 1986 with Czechoslovakia, 1994 and 2002 for Slovakia. His greatest success at the Chess Olympiads was second place with his team in Lucerne in 1982 . Plachetka played four times for Czechoslovakia (1970, 1977, 1980 and 1989) and once for Slovakia (1999) at the European Team Championships .

In the Czechoslovak team championship Plachetka played for the ŠK Lokomotíva Trnava , in the Czech Extraliga from 1997 to 1999 for the ŠK V + P Zlín and from 2000 to 2013 for the ŠK Mahrla Prague , with whom he became Czech team champion in 2009 . In the Austrian 1st Bundesliga (State League A until 2003), Plachetka played for SK Austria Wien from 1989 to 1996, for the Husek / Ottakring season in the 2000/01 season and for the SK Sparkasse Bad Vöslau in the 2019/20 season , in Hungary he played for Községi Sportegyesület Decs from 2008 to 2011 . In the Slovak Extraliga he played in the 1992/93 season for the ŠK Lokomotíva Trnava , from 1995 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2010 for the ŠK Trenčín , in the 2000/01 season for the ŠK Baník Prievidza , from 2002 to 2005 for the ŠK Slovan Bratislava and from 2005 to 2007 for the ŠK Senica , since 2011 he has played for the ŠK Magic Liptov .
