Martin Mrva
Martin Mrva (born December 12, 1971 in Prešov ) is a Slovak chess master and chess journalist.
Career
At the championships of Slovakia in 1988 in Trnava he won the silver medal and a year later in Michalovce the gold. Mrva won the First Saturday tournament in Budapest in 1993 . He won the 1997 Tatry Open in Tatranská Lomnica . Mrva won in Piešťany in 2004 and shared first place with Josef Přibyl in the Tatry Open in Tatranské Zruby in 2005 .
Mrva is the publisher of the chess magazine Šach Revue and also runs the chess web portals www.64.sk and www.c7c5.com . Mrva also created the CD Učim sa hrať šach (I'm learning to play chess). In 2005 Mrva was appointed grandmaster , he had met the required standards in June 2000 at the zone tournament in Budapest, in the Slovak team championship 2002/03 and in May 2005 at the Mitropacup in Steinbrunn .
His Elo number is 2417 (as of February 2015), his highest Elo number of 2512 he reached in April 2005.
National team
Mrva took part in the 1994 , 1996 , 2000 and 2004 Chess Olympiads with the Slovak team . He also took part in the Mitropacup in 1995, 1997, 2004 and 2005, his greatest success being second place with the Slovak team in 2004.

In the Slovak Extraliga , Mrva played from 1994 to 2005 for ŠK Tatran Prešov (with whom he played in the Česko-Slovenská celostátní liga, the top division of the Czechoslovak team championship, in the 1991/92 season), with whom he was Slovak team champion in 2000 and took part in the European Club Cup , from 2005 to 2007 for sachy.sk Košice , from 2008 to 2010 for TJ INBEST Dunajov , in the 2010/11 season for BŠK Edymax Bardejov , in the 2011/12 season for the MŠK KdV Kežmarok and since the 2015/16 season for REINTER Humenné . In the Czech Extraliga Mrva played in the 1993/94 season for the ŠK CSABI Slavia Havířov , from 1995 to 1997 for the ŠK H. Fuchs Ostrava , in the 1999/2000 season for the ŠK DP Holdia Prague and in the 2004/05 season for the ŠK Sokol Kolín . In the top Hungarian league, the NB I. Szabó László csoport, he played in the 2006/07 season for Edelényi Városi Sportegyesület .
