Jiří Lechtýnský (born November 25, 1947 ) is a Czech chess master .

Life

Lechtýnský received the grandmaster title in 1982 . He took part in the Chess Olympiad three times for the Czechoslovak national team ( 1974 , 1980 and 1986 as the second reserve player), where he scored 11.5 points from 17 games. He was represented three times (1970, 1977 and 1980) at the European team championships . Lechtýnský often played in the championships of Czechoslovakia, later the Czech Republic; his best result was bronze in 1986 in Prague.

Lechtýnský won or occupied top places in several tournaments: I-II. Place in Děčín (1979), I-II. Place in Karviná (1980), I-II. Place in Halle (1981), II-III. Place in Polanica-Zdrój (1983), 2nd place in Linz (1993), II.-III. Place in Linz (1996), II. Place in Litoměřice (1999), I. place in Augsburg (2003), I.-III. Place in Havlíčkův Brod (2004) and I.-V. Place in Česká Třebová (2006).

In the Czech extra league Lechtýnský played from 1993 to 1997 for the ŠK Dům armády Prague , with whom he became champions in 1996 and 1997 and took part in the European Club Cup in 1996, from 1997 to 2000 for the ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad , from 2000 to 2003 for the ŠK Infinity Pardubice and from 2004 to 2009 for TJ Zikuda Turnov . In the German Federal Chess League he played for VdS Buna Halle in the 1991/92 season .
