Marek Vokáč (born December 6, 1958 in Prague ) is a Czech chess player , chess journalist, chess trainer and chess official.
Life
Vokáč learned to play chess at the age of five and became a member of the Prague chess club Tesla Karlín at the age of nine. He is a graduate engineer in chemistry. From 1990 to 1992 he was the editor-in-chief of the chess magazine Československý šach (Olympia Publishing House), and in the following five years he edited the magazine together with the new owner Ivan Hausner . He was the coach of the Czech team at the 1994 Chess Olympiad in Moscow , from 1995 to 2000 he was in charge of the Czech women's national team (at the Olympics in Yerevan 1996, Elista 1998 and Istanbul 2000, and at the European Championships in Pula 1997, Batumi 1999, León 2001).
Vokáč won the 1999 Czech championship in Lázně Bohdaneč , in 1995 in Olomouc he won silver.
Vokáč won or occupied top places in several tournaments: shared 1st place in Prague (1988), shared 1st place (1996) and twice 1st place (2000, 2003) in Budweis , 1st place in Třinec (1998), 1st place . to II. place in Karviná (2001), I. place in Znojmo (2004), I. to III. Place in Havlíčkův Brod (2004), Place I (2005), Place I to II (2006) Staré Město , Place I to II (2005), Place I (2006) Prague, Place I in Teplice (2006), 1st place in Žďár nad Sázavou (2007), 1st place in Český Krumlov (2007).
In February 2015 he was 22nd in the Czech Republic's Elo ranking.
National team
With the Czech national team, Vokáč took part in the 2002 Chess Olympiad and the European Team Championships in 1999 and 2001.

In the Czech Extraliga Vokáč played 1992-1999 for the TJ Bohemians Prague (for which he was already playing in the Czechoslovak team championship and this won in 1992), with whom he in 1993 and 1994 was the Czech team champion and 1993 and 1994 at the European Club Cup took part, in the 1999/2000 season for the ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad , from 2000 to 2006 for the ŠK Mahrla Prague , from 2006 to 2011 for the 1st Novoborský ŠK , with whom he was Czech team champion in 2008 , 2010 and 2011 and in 2007 and 2009 at the European Club Cup, again for ŠK Mahrla Prague in the 2012/13 season , and since 2013 he has been playing for TJ Zikuda Turnov . In the German 1st Bundesliga he played in the 1992/93 season for SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim , in the Slovakian Extra League in the 1994/95 season for the ŠK Tesla Liptovský Hrádok .
