Petr Velička (born February 26, 1967 in Frýdek-Místek ) is a Czech chess master .

Life

In 2007 he received the title of grandmaster , he fulfilled the necessary standards in June 1999 at the Czech individual championship in Lázně Bohdaneč , at the Portuguese team championship in 2005 in Évora and in December 2006 at the 3rd International Open in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy . His best result at Czech individual championships was second place in 1999 in Lázně Bohdaneč. Velička won or occupied top places in several tournaments: I-III. Place in Brno (1994), I-III. 1st place in Ostrava (1998), I-IV. Place in Hamburg (2000), I-VIII. Place in Benasque (2003).

In the Czech extra league Velička played in the 1992/93 season for the TJ TŽ Třinec , for whom he had previously competed in the Czechoslovak team championship, in the 1993/94 season for the ŠK Baník CSA Karviná GRADO , with whom he also played at the European Club Cup 1995 participated, in the 1994/95 season for the ŠK CSABI Slavia Havířov , from 1995 to 1999 for the ŠK H. Fuchs Ostrava , in the 1999/2000 season again for the TJ TŽ Třinec , from 2000 to 2002 for the ŠK Hagemann Opava , with whom he became Czech team champion in 2002 , in the 2002/03 season for TJ Jäkl Karviná , since 2003 he has played for IPM Color Ostrava (from 2005 to 2008 and since 2010 ŠK Labortech Ostrava , from 2008 to 2010 ŠK Geofin Ostrava ). In the German 1st Bundesliga Velička played for SK Passau in the 1996/97 season , in the Luxembourg national division in the 2008/09 season for Cercle d'échecs Dudelange and in the Slovakian Extraliga from 1994 to 1998 for the ŠK Slovan Levice and from 2009 to 2012 for the MŠK KdV Kežmarok . In the Belgian Interclubs he played for the TSM Schaakklub from Mechelen in the 2017/18 season .
