Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy is a French commune in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). With 30,002 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), it is the second largest municipality in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department after Nancy . The inhabitants are called Vandopériens .
geography
Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy borders immediately to the south of the city center of Nancy , with which it is closely linked both structurally and in terms of traffic. In the southwest the community extends over the area of the hippodrome to the A33 autoroute .

Transport links
The currently only line T1 of the Tramway de Nancy runs from Nancy to Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy to the university clinic at the final stop Vandœuvre CHU Brabois . It is a track bus , also known as Tramway sur pneumatiques , which is unique in the world in this form: the vehicles have rubber tires and are a mixture of trolleybus and tram. On the section in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, from the Callot stop , because of the steep section (up to 13 percent incline), drive without the centrally located guardrail.
