Champigneulles is a French commune with 6,745 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nancy .
geography
The commune of Champigneulles is located on the right bank of the Lower Meurthe and just four kilometers north of Nancy city center .
history
Champigneulles used to be called Campigniola , a small fertile area. The place is only mentioned at the beginning of the 14th century. However, there was a settlement of Saint-Barthélemy nearby, which disappeared during the Huguenot Wars .

Economy and Infrastructure
Champigneulles is known nationally for the Brasserie Champigneulles , which was founded here in 1897 and sponsored the Tour de France between 1949 and 1965 . Since 2006 the brewery has belonged to TCB Beteiligungsgesellschaft based in Frankfurt (Oder) .
In Champigneulles there is an exit for the A31 autoroute . Champigneulles station is on the Paris – Strasbourg line . The railway line to Sarralbe used to go from here. The nearest airport and a TGV train station are approx. 30 km north.
