Chaligny is a French commune with 2,858 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nancy and the Canton of Neuves-Maisons . The inhabitants of Chaligny are called Chalinéens .
geography
Chaligny is located on the north bank of the Moselle , about nine kilometers southwest of Nancy . Chaligny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laxou in the north, Nancy in the northeast, Chavigny in the east, Neuves-Maisons in the southeast, Pont-Saint-Vincent in the south, Sexey-aux-Forges in the west and Maron in the northwest.
