Xirocourt is a French commune with 442 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nancy and the Pays du Saintois municipality .
geography
The municipality of Xirocourt is located about 30 kilometers south of Nancy on the left bank of the Madon . To the south, the border with the Vosges department is only four kilometers from Xirocourt. The landscape of the Saintois is hilly and reaches in the Colline de Sion (with the Signal de Vaudémont tower ) southwest of Xirocourt 541 meters above sea level.

Economy and Infrastructure
The inhabitants of Xirocourt live from agriculture, from small craft businesses or commute to the industrial areas of the nearby Moselle valley. There are seven farms in the community (grain cultivation, horse breeding). There is also a tree nursery in Xirocourt that specializes in bamboo trees and rare tree species.
The D 904 trunk road runs through the village and connects Xirocourt to the southeast with the town of Charmes and the national road 57 ( Metz - Nancy - Épinal ) and to the northwest with the small town of Vézelise . There are other road connections to Mirecourt and Haroué . The nearest train station is in the neighboring municipality of Saint-Firmin on the Jarville-la-Malgrange – Mirecourt railway line .
