The Madon is a river in France that runs in the Grand Est region .

The Madon rises near the source of the Saône , in the municipality of Vioménil , generally drains in a northerly direction and after 97 kilometers flows into the Moselle as a left tributary at Pont-Saint-Vincent . On its way, the Madon crosses the Vosges and Meurthe-et-Moselle departments . At the mouth of the river, the Moselle is accompanied by a shipping canal ; on the other side of the river, near Neuves-Maisons , the Canal des Vosges merges into the canalized Moselle (French: Moselle canalisée).

At the mouth of the Madon into the Moselle, the mean discharge rate (MQ) is 11.1 m³ / s; its catchment area covers 1032 km².

At the Pulligny gauge, the long-term mean (1964–2010) the discharge rate is 10.4 m³ / s, the catchment area here comprises 940 m². The highest water levels are measured in the winter months from December to February. The flow rate reaches its peak in January at 20.8 m³ / s. From February onwards the water flow decreases steadily and noticeably, reaches its lowest level in August with 2.7 m³ / s and then increases again continuously.
