Haroué is a French commune with 510 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It was the capital of the canton of the same name until 2015 and has been part of the canton of Meine au Saintois ever since .

The municipality of Haroué is about 25 kilometers south of Nancy on the banks of the Madon in the Saintois countryside .

Worth seeing
The Haroué Castle was from 1720 to 1732 by Germain Boffrand for Prince Marc de Beauvau built. Today's castle stands on the site of the destroyed medieval complex that last belonged to the marshal, diplomat and bon vivant François de Bassompierre before it was destroyed in the turmoil of the wars of Louis XIV . Well-known artists, including Jean Lamour and Barthélemy Guibal, were involved in furnishing the palace and the gardens . The castle is classified as a monument historique .
