Mailly-sur-Seille is located about 28 kilometers south-southeast of Metz an der Seille , which borders the municipality in the southeast. Mailly-sur-Seille is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jure in the north, Secourt in the north and north-east, Sailly-Achâtel in the north-east, Phlin in the east, Abaucourt in the south, Nomeny in the south and south-west and Raucourt in the west and north-west.
