Velaine-sous-Amance is located about nine kilometers east-northeast of Nancy and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laneuvelotte in the north and west, Champenoux in the east and northeast, Réméréville in the southeast, Buissoncourt in the south and southeast and Cerville in the south and southwest.
