Benney is a French commune in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nancy and the Canton of Meine au Saintois (until 2015: Canton Haroué ). The place has 650 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Benney lies in the Moselle valley and is bounded by the Canal des Vosges in the northeast. Benney is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Flavigny-sur-Moselle in the north and north-west, Tonnoy in the north-east, Crévéchamps in the east, Saint-Remimont in the south and south-east, Ormes-et-Ville in the south and south-west, Lemainville in the south-west, Voinémont in the west as well Ceintrey to the west and northwest.
