Flavigny-sur-Moselle is about 14 kilometers south of Nancy on the Moselle . Through the village leading shipping channels Canal des Vosges (formerly Canal de l'Est ) and Canal de jonction de Nancy . Flavigny-sur-Moselle is surrounded by the neighboring communities Richardménil in the north, Lupcourt in the northeast, Azelot and Burthecourt-aux-Chênes in the east, Tonnoy in the southeast, Benney and Ceintrey in the south, Pulligny in the southwest and Méréville in the northwest.
The A330 autoroute runs through the municipality .

- Flavigny priory with church, tower from the 12th century, later renovations in the 15th, 16th and 19th centuries. Settled from 1824 to 1902 by the nuns of today's Benedictine Abbey of Eyres-Moncube .
