Sailly-Achâtel is a French commune with 292 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

Sailly-Achâtel is located southeast of Metz at an altitude between 214 and 308 meters above sea level, the mean height is 250 meters. The municipality covers 8.18 km².

history

The place was created on January 1, 1962 by merging the two villages

  • Sailly (1915-1918 and 1940-1944 Germanized Sallach ) and
  • Achâtel (1915–1918 and 1940–1944 translated the Hohenschloß into German ).
