Moncheux is a French commune with 149 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

Moncheux is located halfway between Metz and Château-Salins at an altitude between 242 and 365 m above sea level. The municipality covers 7.35 km².

history

The village bore the Germanized name Monchern from 1915 to 1918 and Mingen from 1940 to 1944 .
