Malroy is a French commune with 355 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

The municipality of Malroy is located on the right bank of the Moselle , eight kilometers north of Metz at an altitude between 160 and 205 m above sea level. The municipality covers 3.54 km².

history

The village bore the German name Malrich from 1915 to 1918 and 1940-1944 .

In the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, it was fought over during the Battle of Noisseville .
